How does a pass line bet works?

A player should place his bet on the pass line prior to the beginning of a roll of a new shooter. This is called “come out roll.” In case the new shooter rolls an 11 or 7, the player wins. If 12, 3 or 2 are rolled, the player loses.

In case the shooter gets any other number, that specific number also becomes the game’s point number. That number should be rolled once again, before a 7 is rolled. If that occurs, the player wins money for his pass line bet. However, if a 7 is rolled prior to the point number, the player loses.

Odds Bet

Once a point is already established, the player can do another bet. This should be behind the pass line bet. This is what they call “odds bet.” This is the one and only bet inside the casino which has zero house edge.

Take note: plenty of casinos provide double odds. This means the player can bet two times the size of his pass line bet. If player brings in $5 as his pass line bet, then he is permitted to put in a $10 odds bet.

Take note of this as a reference:

  1. If the point is 8 or 6, it pays 6 to 5
  2. If the point is 9 or 5, it pays 3 to 2
  3. If the point is 10 or 4, it pays 2 to 1
